Health and Safety: risk assessment and training services
All employers and self employed people in Northern Ireland must comply with The Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978.
This means you must make your workplace safe and without risk to your employees or any other person who might be affected by your activities.
You must draw up a Health and Safety policy statement if you have 5 or more employees which should state how you will organise and manage your health, safety and welfare arrangements in your workplaces.
The Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland recommend that you risk assess all work activities in order to:
- Identify all hazards
- Identify the people at risk
- Quantify the level of risk
- Identify the measures you currently have in place to control the risks
- Determine if any additional protective measures are required to reduce the risks to an acceptable level
You should if possible completely remove all hazards from your workplace but sometimes it is necessary to control hazards and implement measure to reduce the likelihood of an accident occurring and sometimes it is necessary to provide PPE and specialised training to your staff.
All ARMA risk assessors are NEBOSH (National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health) qualified and have extensive experience in health and safety risk assessment methodology.
ARMA trainers can also provide your employees with relevant training and information regarding a range of health and safety matters such as:
- The H&S arrangements you have in place including employee responsibility under H&S legislation
